So this is the Park at Travanca Do Mondego, small but beautifully formed ! It has a play area with swings , slide etc... a toilet block, drinking water fountains, basketball net, running water, BBQ area with sinks for washing up ! and a ton of shaded seating under the olive trees. I think it is less than a year old..... It is a great space.

ReplyDeleteSorry but I have to disagree with all of you especially on this matter who built the park!
First: it was not the water company who build it up; (is an invented story);
Second: the space you called "running water to play in" is not for that; it's just for decoration and and offers a picture of tranquility to the place;
Third: the orders to build it up the park where given by the local council (parish council) and it was this very same council who run up the project together with a landscaping company;
The people of Travanca do Mondego is very grateful and also thankful with your visit.
Please come to visit us in August (15th,16th,17th) 'cause it when will be the local pilgrimage (local festivities) and it will be nice to have you!

Hello Raf - I have no idea why I have not seen your message before - I just found it now and appologise for not replying to you before.... Thank you for correcting my misinformation re the park - I was given that information by several of the English families in the area so I will correct them now !! The park is wonderful, the parish council and landscaping company have done a fantastic job and we love the area here. I appreciate that the running water is for decoration not play but Maria and Sienna (above) could not resist.. I sadly missed the 'Festa' in August but will be sure to visit it next year.
